IMPACT ON YOU:

10 REASONS TO VOTE NO ON MEASURE T

1. If you oppose Measure Q because of the mismanagement by politicians and their attempt to make it permanent you should also vote NO on Measure T. Both suffer the same problems. Both are proposed as permeant measures, both are proposed by politicians that have mismanaged the taxpayer’s money.

2. Because we support libraries, we are already paying for libraries through our property taxes. There are NINE measures already which amount to $2200-$3,000 depending on your home plus property taxes over $10,000. Take a look at the following new property tax bill and ask yourself after the taxpayer pays $12,139.20 in property taxes to Yolo County, the Board of Supervisors cannot find $172 for the libraries? It is unconscionable and irresponsible a sign of corruption. Yet they have the audacity to ask the taxpayers for a new permanent parcel tax with no oversight, with built in automatic increases every year and denying the taxpayers the right to vote YES or NO in the future. Time to vote NO on Measure T. Send it back until they come with a fair proposal.

 3. Having failed their responsibilities they want to shift the costs and salaries to the property owners to continue the same practice. Measure T does not have even an oversight committee. A library advisor board with no fiscal authority is not an oversight committee. You do not know if the money will be spent for the intended purpose. NO accountability.

4. If you do not send a STOP message the alphabet of measures will continue forever. The record is clear, we have been hit with the whole alphabet of measures since 2011 starting with Measure A and all the letters in between. There are 9 measures already in your tax bill. Do you need a 10th?

5. Given the economy of most households under the current inflation, this is not the right time to pass a 10th permanent parcel tax measure.

6. Setting Measure T as a permanent measure with automatic increases every year does not give the voter an amount to approve or disapprove. In fact it is a blank check because in the future you will not know exactly what you are paying, it will just show up in your bill. .

7. Proponents of Measure T are deceiving the voters in to thinking they will pay $49 while if you read the fine print and go to the third page of the measure you discover you will be paying $172 which is $123 we are already paying plus $49. They do not want you to think you are already paying for libraries.

8. Measure T is a complete attack on democracy because it denies you the voter the right to approve or disapprove in the future. If measure T passes they are not going to ask you again. It will be put in automatic pilot with yearly increases forever. It is permanent. You think the same politicians they proposed it will be the ones to stop it? Not a chance.

9. Measure T is a new permanent parcel tax with automatic increases every year. Politicians on the Board of Supervisors and the City Council, each want a permanent measure. Their new modality is to make these parcel taxes permanent. You need to say NO, enough is enough otherwise, you will not have another chance. They are not going to ask you ever again.

10. Measure T denies the voters the right to say YES or NO in the future. Denying the right to vote and imposing permanent parcel taxes in a clear violation of democracy.

THE TIME HAS COME TO TAKE A STAND AN VOTE NO ON MEASURE T

The Board of Supervisors has not managed the taxpayers' money well and now they come to the homeowners as if they were an ATM.
